Terms of use
Published 23 October 2026 · Version terms-20261023
Published 23 October 2026. These Terms apply to new agreements when accepted. Publication does not record acceptance, replace an existing agreement without any required notice, or give permission for optional processing. This Privacy policy describes our current processing and the service when available. The website and contact-service provisions below apply now.
For enquiries or requests, Contact us.
1. These terms govern your use of the Agree Disagree app and its related account services (the Service). The Service is operated by AGREE DISAGREE LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17452567 (we, us or the Company). You can contact us at Contact us. Company information is available at Company information.
2. When you create an account, we ask you to accept these terms and make a copy available for you to retain. The Community standards below form part of these terms. The Privacy policy explains how we use personal data; acknowledging it does not give consent to an activity requiring a separate choice. Additional purchase terms shown before an order govern that purchase. Nothing in these documents removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
3. You must be at least 16 to hold an account and must satisfy any eligibility or age checks we reasonably require. You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and up to date. Most account information can be changed in Settings. To protect accounts, prevent misuse and support age-appropriate operation, changes to certain information, including date of birth, may be limited or require additional verification. If you cannot correct inaccurate information through the app, you can submit a Privacy request. We will consider valid correction requests in accordance with applicable law. Do not misrepresent your age or identity. Do not share your account, impersonate another person or create an account to evade a restriction. We may suspend access while investigating a credible concern about eligibility or security and will explain the outcome where lawful and appropriate. Additional local eligibility rules may apply. We will tell you where a parent or guardian must authorise access or a purchase. An app-store content rating does not replace these account requirements.
4. Keep your sign-in details secure and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. You remain responsible for activity you authorise through your account, but these terms do not make you automatically liable for every act of an unauthorised third party. A username is subject to availability and our rules against impersonation and infringement. We may require a change for a substantiated breach and will explain why.
5. The Service allows members to share questions or statements, vote and use the discussion and account features available to them. Availability can depend on the chosen audience, account status, subscription or territory. The description supplied with a paid plan identifies the included features; we will not treat a feature preview as a purchase or charge you without an authorised order. Registration is available only in the countries and regions shown as supported in the app; changing a location setting to evade restrictions is prohibited. Public launch registration is planned for the United Kingdom and United States. Boosts are not offered at launch. Plus provides the insights described on the subscription screen; availability depends on sufficient eligible responses and privacy protections.
6. Use the Service lawfully. Do not post or facilitate threats, stalking, hateful abuse, terrorism, child sexual exploitation or abuse, non-consensual intimate material, fraud, unlawful discriminatory conduct or other illegal activity. Do not encourage suicide or serious self-harm, publish harmful instructions, or target someone with sustained harassment. Do not use disagreements as a reason to intimidate another member.
7. You must not publish another person’s private information without a lawful justification, infringe intellectual-property rights, make unlawful defamatory statements, manipulate voting, operate deceptive accounts, send spam or interfere with the Service. Do not bypass security or access restrictions, introduce malicious software, scrape personal information or use automated access without our permission unless the law permits it.
8. You retain ownership of content you submit. You confirm that you have the rights needed to publish it and that its publication complies with these terms. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, display and make technical adaptations to it as necessary to provide, maintain and protect the Service and apply your audience choices. We may allow providers acting for us to perform those tasks. This licence does not transfer your ownership or grant an unrestricted right to sell your individual voting history or train unrelated AI models on your content.
9. The content licence ends when the relevant content is removed from our systems, subject to necessary legal or safety retention and backup handling described in the Privacy policy. Removing content does not recover copies other people have already made or require lawful independent material about the same subject to be removed. We will not use an expired licence to republish deleted content for a new promotional purpose.
10. Your sharing choices govern visibility within the Service, but viewers may copy or disclose what they can see. A follower restriction is an audience control, not a guarantee of confidentiality. Individual vote history is not displayed as a public profile list, but changes in a question’s totals can reveal a person’s choice when participation is low. Avoid posting confidential material or information about others that you are not entitled to disclose.
11. Member content represents its author’s views. A post, badge, result or position in a feed does not establish that we endorse it or have verified every assertion. Totals describe the members who answered that question and are not a representative population survey. Content and results are not a substitute for professional medical, financial or legal advice. We remain responsible for the obligations the law places on us as the provider.
12. We may use ordering rules to present questions by recency, interaction, relevance to selected interests or other options shown in the Service.
13. Report a question, comment or account using its report control, or use Contact us with enough information to locate it and understand the concern. You may also complain about the handling of a report or a restriction. Do not send passwords or unnecessary identity documents. The Service is not an emergency service; contact the emergency services where there is an immediate risk to someone’s safety. To request removal of an intimate image shared without consent, use Contact us even if you do not have an account. Include your physical or electronic signature, enough information to locate the image, contact information, and a good-faith statement that it was shared without consent, including any relevant supporting information. An authorised representative may submit the request. Where the US TAKE IT DOWN Act applies, we remove the image and make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies within 48 hours of a valid request. Do not attach or redistribute the image.
14. We assess reports and other available evidence and may remove content, limit its distribution or features, or suspend or close an account where proportionate to enforce these terms, address illegal content, protect people or comply with the law. Urgent action may be taken before notice where necessary. We consider the seriousness of the concern, the context, applicable rights and relevant previous breaches. We use automated checks for new questions, comments and replies, submitted profile text and new profile or cover photos. A question may be returned for rewording or held for review. A failed or unavailable required check prevents the submission being saved; choose different wording or a different photo, or try again if the service is unavailable. Checks can miss harmful material or reject acceptable content and do not mean all existing content has been checked. Use support to challenge an outcome. These checks do not inspect the destination of a profile website link.
15. Where we restrict content or an account, we will give an explanation and a way to seek review, except to the extent disclosure is prohibited by law or would prejudice safety or an investigation. Use the appeal route supplied with the decision or use Contact us, identifying the decision and why you consider it incorrect. We will assess the appeal fairly; appealing does not guarantee reversal. This process does not restrict access to courts or regulators.
16. For an intellectual-property complaint, identify the protected work or right, the disputed content and its location, your authority to complain, the basis of the complaint and a contact address. For a complaint about reputation, identify the precise statement, its location and meaning, why you consider it unlawful, the relevant inaccuracies and your contact details. We may request information needed for a fair assessment and disclose limited details where lawful and necessary to respond to the complaint.
17. If you purchase a subscription, the order screen must state the total price including applicable taxes, billing period, features, any minimum commitment and relevant cancellation terms before you confirm payment. The confirmed offer and these terms form the purchase agreement. Payment through an app store is also subject to that store’s payment arrangements. We receive the information needed to confirm your entitlement, not your full payment-card details through the app.
18. A recurring Plus or Verified plan renews for the billing period and price disclosed when you subscribe, unless you cancel or the plan ends. The purchase screen explains the features and any identity check required for Verified; a badge does not verify every statement someone makes or guarantee that they are trustworthy. You can stop renewal using the relevant app-store subscription controls or the cancellation method supplied for another sales channel. Deleting the app or your account does not itself cancel a store subscription. Cancellation ordinarily leaves the paid entitlement available until the end of the paid period, subject to statutory rights and any refund that ends the entitlement.
19. You retain statutory cancellation and refund rights. Where UK distance-contract rules apply, the applicable cancellation period, normally 14 days from contract formation for services or qualifying digital content, and the method for exercising it will be explained before the order. Immediate supply does not by itself remove those rights. Any request to begin a service early, proportionate charge for performance, or loss of a digital-content cancellation right must satisfy the applicable legal conditions and be recorded separately where required.
20. To exercise a cancellation right, use Contact us or use the cancellation route supplied with your order. A clear statement is sufficient where the law permits it. You may use this wording: “I cancel my order for [service], ordered on [date], order reference [reference]. My name is [name] and my account email is [email].” Include a postal address where needed for the statutory form. Store refund tools may also be available. Their availability does not remove our responsibilities or your legal remedies.
21. Paid services must meet the standards required by applicable consumer law, including reasonable care and skill and conformity with their description where required. Contact us if a paid feature is faulty or not supplied. We will provide the remedy required in the circumstances, which can include correction, repeat performance, a price reduction or refund. We do not apply a blanket no-refunds rule.
22. We may make reasonable changes to maintain compatibility, improve the Service, prevent misuse or comply with law. We will explain material changes affecting your rights or a paid entitlement in advance where practicable, and seek fresh agreement where required. We will not apply a price increase to a paid period retrospectively. Renewal-price changes will be notified and handled under applicable law and store rules, with a way to cancel before the changed charge applies.
23. We take reasonable care in operating the Service but cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted or free of faults. We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, security or other necessary work. We will take proportionate steps to restore the Service and meet our obligations for any affected paid feature. Requirements to install a compatible update or use a supported device will be explained where they affect access.
24. You may stop using the Service, deactivate your account or request deletion through the account controls or support contact. Deactivation and deletion have different effects as explained in the Privacy policy. We may terminate an account for a serious or repeated breach, a legal requirement or a proportionate safety reason, subject to the notice and review provisions above. We will handle unused paid entitlements fairly and preserve any statutory refund rights.
25. We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of contract or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law. The Service is supplied for personal use; to the extent the law permits, we are not responsible for business losses arising from such use. Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not impose an automatic obligation on consumers to indemnify us for all claims.
26. Our app, branding and other original Company materials remain ours or our licensors’. You receive permission to use them as necessary for ordinary authorised use of the Service. Do not copy our branding to imply endorsement or affiliation. Third-party websites and services control their own content and terms; a link does not constitute our endorsement.
27. We will record and publish the date of a revised version and give notice of material changes before they apply where required. A policy update does not retrospectively create consent or authorise unrelated processing. If a clause is unenforceable, the remaining lawful provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a term on one occasion does not waive it for the future.
28. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to the mandatory protections available in your country of residence. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law; no clause requires a consumer to give up that right. We will seek to resolve complaints through Contact us without preventing you from approaching a competent court or regulator.
29. For EU users, our contact point for service users and authorities is Contact us. Notices may be submitted in English; this does not limit rights to use a language required by applicable law. Where the Digital Services Act applies, moderation notices include the reasons and available redress required for our service. Applicable legal representative details will be published in the company information before EU services open. We do not contract out of mandatory national protections.
Community standards
These standards form part of the app Terms of use above when those Terms are accepted.
Challenge ideas without threatening or targeting people. Do not harass, stalk, intimidate or organise abuse against a person or group. Explain disagreements without hateful attacks or unlawful discriminatory conduct.
These rules apply to questions, comments and replies, usernames, profile text, photos and material you link to. Do not post illegal material, terrorist or violent-extremist content, child sexual exploitation or abuse material, non-consensual intimate images or fraud. Pornography and sexually explicit material are not allowed. Do not encourage suicide, serious self-harm, eating disorders or serious violence, give harmful instructions, promote dangerous challenges or harmful misuse of substances, or publish graphic serious injury or cruelty to people or animals. Non-graphic educational, preventive and supportive discussion remains allowed where it does not encourage harm. Report an immediate danger to the appropriate emergency services.
Respect privacy and personal rights. Do not expose someone’s address, private contact information, confidential messages or intimate material without a lawful justification. Do not publish unlawful defamatory allegations or infringe copyright, trade marks or other rights.
Present questions honestly. Do not impersonate others, falsify sources, manipulate votes, run scams or flood the Service with spam. Identify materially misleading fabricated or AI-generated quotations rather than presenting them as a real person’s words.
Follow audience controls and account restrictions. Do not create replacement accounts or use automation to evade moderation, scrape personal data or interfere with the Service.
Use reporting, blocking and muting controls to raise concerns and manage interaction. We assess concerns and may restrict content or accounts proportionately under the Terms of use. A report is a request for assessment, not a guarantee of removal. You may challenge a decision through the supplied appeal route or Contact us.
